The great Stan Musial, colorized by the great Don Stokes, gets hold of one in a 4-3 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies in front of a sparse crowd of 3,882. Despite the setback, the 1946 Cardinals team would go on that season to win the World Series defeating the Boston Red Sox in seven games.

That year Musial would hit 16 home runs, drive in 103 runs and batted a league-best .365. He also led the league in runs scored, hits, doubles and triples as well as slugging percentage. Which all earned him the Most Valuable Player award, his second of three he would win over his illustrious career.
