Two gone but not forgotten historic stadiums from Philadelphia – Shibe Park on the bottom of this photo and the Baker Bowl on the top. I love aerial photos of the old ballparks and this one is up there as one of my favorites, it gives you an great look on how close proximity these two ballparks were to each other and the neighborhoods they inhabited.
And if you look hard enough you can see the Lifebouy ad on the 60 foot right field wall at the Baker Bowl.
Shibe Park was home to the Philadelphia Athletics (1909–1954) and the Philadelphia Phillies (1938–1970) and the Baker Bowl was home to the Phillies (1887–1938) before they moved into Shibe Park.
