Here is a wonderful Leslie Jones aerial photograph of Braves Field, While it’s not a well remembered ballpark, it was a large and important part of Boston sports history. From 1915 to 1952 it was home to the Braves/Bees until they moved to Milwaukee. The 40,000-seat ballpark was also host to three World Series, twice for the Red Sox in 1915 and 1916, because Fenway Park was considered too small of a venue to handle the expected big crowds, and in 1948 when the Braves played the Cleveland Indians.
Braves Field was also home to five professional football teams including the NFL Boston Braves who are today the Washington Redskins.
Do take note of the crowd in the outfield as it circles the field. A common practice by greedy owners. The seating section along the right field line still stands today! It’s part of Nickerson Field, home to Boston University athletics.
