Such A Deal!

Free Baseball History Comes Alive Bookmarks!

You read that right!

To celebrate the success (hopefully!) of my new book, Out From Under the Shadow of the Babe: One hundred ten baseball profiles of players NOT named Babe Ruth, I’ve had some custom-made bookmarks made up. I actually designed these myself, and I have to admit they came out pretty nice!

On the front is a neat pic of the book’s cover, along with my name as editor of the site and the site’s address: www.baseballhistorycomesalive.com. On the reverse side, is a great photo of a baseball game being played during the Civil War era. It’s the same photo I used for the backdrop of the website. Below are closer looks at the front and back.

That’s the good news. The bad news is that the minimum order was 250…so needless to say, I’m stuck with a heck of a lot more than I actually need. I’d have to write 50 more books to move all of these!

It’s the Christmas season, right? So, to help celebrate this festive time of the year, and to show my appreciation for all the loyal support I’ve received around here over the years. I’d like to give away these neat bookmarks to whoever wants them. Just send me your name and address, and I’ll get a couple of these babies in the mail right out to you FREE OF CHARGE. I’ll answer each request with two free bookmarks.

You can leave your name and address in the comments section below, or if you’d prefer, just send to me in an email: Livac2@aol.com. (I’ll remove your address from the website as soon as I send out the bookmarks). I’ll even pick up the charge for the stamp. And don’t worry…if you lose these two, there’s plenty more where these came from…but on the second time around, you’ll have to pay for the stamp. Haha!

Now when you read your next baseball history book, you can think of us here on Baseball History Comes Alive with your neat bookmark reminder saving your place!

  2. I would love to receive a couple of bookmarks. Please mail them to:

    Phil Wetz

And thanks for sharing all of the great articles you publish!

  3. Gary, while I’d love to see you write 50 more books, I’ll gladly take two bookmarks if any are left.
    Thanks, Jay

    1. Haha! Yes, there are some left…try about 200! Anyway…the bookmarks are on their way.

Thanks Jay…Merry Christmas to you and your family! Gary

  4. Another enterprising idea on the part of our very favorite editor! Congratulations, Kind Sir!

    Best wishes,

    Michael

  5. The book is excellent. I enjoy reading a few stories at a time and learn something from every one, even on the familiar stars. Starting with Dick Allen was a treat for me as a former Chicagoan.
