The great Stan Musial’s final swing in his final game as he strokes a single off Red’s starting pitcher Jim Maloney to drive in the games first run. Musial was then lifted for pinch-runner Gary Kolb as he exists the field for the last time to the cheers of 27,576 appreciative Cardinal fans. The Cardinals would go on to win the game 3-2.
Musial’s single would be his 3,630th of this illustrious career, he would finish with a lifetime .331 average winning the batting crown seven times and the led the Majors in hits six times. He would also be named MVP three times. Other impressive feats include his 475 career home runs and 725 doubles, the latter was good enough to put him third on the all-time list.
Stan still looked pretty good with that swing, even at 40+ years old. One of the most underrated Hall of Famers of all time.
Don’t know who that is but it is not Stan. This person is too thick and bulky through both face and body. Stan was still pretty slim as he got older. Also appears to have very full face and darker skin than Stan.
