Let’s Get Dick Allen Into the Hall of Fame!
Please Consider Adding Your Name to the Petition Below
“Dick Allen hits the ball harder than any player I’ve ever seen!” –Willie Mays
“I’ve been around the game a long time, and he’s the greatest player I’ve ever seen play in my life. He had the most amazing season in 1972 I’ve ever seen. He’s the smartest baseball man I’ve ever been around in my life. The guy belongs in the Hall of Fame.” Hall-of-Famer Rich Gossage
“Dick’s behavior never had a negative effect on the team. His teammates always liked him. I’d take him in a minute.” –Gene Mach
Let’s Help Dick’s Cause!
Help us correct a severe baseball injustice by reading the essay below making the case for Dick Allen’s candidacy for the Hall of Fame and then, if you agree with us, consider adding your name to the petition.
In the heartfelt words of Mike Schmidt:
“Dick Allen was my mentor. The baseball writers used to claim that Dick would divide the clubhouse. That was a lie. The truth is that Dick never divided any clubhouse.”
Article to be Submitted to the Classic Baseball Era Committee in Support of Dick Allen’s Candidacy for the Hall of Fame
Many historians regard Dick Allen as the best player not yet in. Typical is Wall Street Journal sports columnist Allen Barra who wrote that “A growing body of baseball historians think that Dick Allen is the best player eligible for the Hall of Fame.” One thing we can say for sure: He’s a better hitter and player than a good percentage of those already in the Hall of Fame.
Please consider helping our cause by adding your name to the petition. It will be forwarded to the Classic Baseball Era committee at the appropriate time prior to the vote in December, 2024. It’s a travesty that Dick hasn’t been enshrined already. He has twice been snubbed by one vote!
We pledge to do our part to help correct this wrong by honoring the legacy of this outstanding ball player by finally giving him the long-overdue honor of enshrinement in the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
